How to get a visa to fly from the United States to Europe
A US-bound plane carrying American diplomats from Europe is set to depart on Wednesday after a stopover in Dubai.
The US-flagged flight, the first since President Donald Trump’s inauguration, was scheduled to depart Dubai’s Jumeirah International Airport, the capital’s main international airport.
Airlines and travel agents have been warning that the move could result in fewer arrivals and fewer passengers at Jumeiroh.
The airline that carries the plane, Air India, said it has been advised to increase capacity in the coming days.
The British Airways, which also operates the plane that departed Dubai on Wednesday, said there were already concerns that the plane would be diverted to London and possibly other European airports.US President Donald Trumps swearing-in ceremony, Jan. 20, 2017, in Washington.AP/Alex Brandon,FilePresident Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday to temporarily suspend the entry of all Syrian refugees into the US, and to suspend refugee admissions from seven Muslim-majority countries for 120 days.
That order is being challenged in federal court in New York.
It allows for the US government to block Syrian refugees and temporarily suspend admission to the US for anyone who is a member of the Syrian National Coalition, a coalition of mostly moderate Syrian rebels.
The government of Turkey, which has been backing the Syrian rebels, and Turkey’s allies Qatar and Saudi Arabia also support the coalition.
