When you have a bad night at the office, Uber could be a new way to pay for a trip

In an era of social media, Uber is no stranger to controversy.
But while its recent troubles with driver abuse and its decision to pay drivers a living wage has brought it much attention, the company’s newest ride sharing service has raised questions that will shape the future of transportation and the future employment landscape.

The ridesharing company announced Tuesday it is opening an American office and adding new partners to its existing network of local drivers.
Uber said it will hire drivers for trips in the US in the first quarter of 2019.
The company has already announced an additional 300 jobs in Austin and Seattle, and a total of 4,400 drivers across the US.
The move comes at a time when companies are scrambling to make ends meet.
While the company has struggled to survive in recent months, Uber’s business has seen its market value increase by more than 50% in the last year, as consumers increasingly turn to its app to pay a ride.
That has left drivers looking for new jobs.
Some have been looking for work in new areas like the tech world and other tech industries, where demand is surging.
In a letter posted on its website, Uber wrote:”We are excited to welcome Uber to Austin and other cities in the future, as well as other locations where we can serve a more diverse and inclusive community.
It’s important to remember that the future will always be about more than just the next driver.
We have a huge team of talented and motivated people, who want to help us grow our business and serve our customers.”
Uber said the new locations would be located in the Austin area, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin and San Jose.
In the letter, the San Jose office was said to be the company most in demand, with nearly 2,000 drivers.
The Austin office, which will be located at the same time as the Austin and Washington locations, will have a mix of drivers from the local and global market, the letter said.
Uber is also looking for people to fill the San Francisco and Washington offices, as the San Fran office currently has less than 100 drivers.
For its part, Uber says the new Seattle office will have more than 2,400 workers.
